本教学案例是人教版高二英语Unit 4 Global Warming 中的Speaking 部分，执教者是曾老师。本课是一堂口语课，在Warming up部分，主要通过六个问题导入新课，即：1.water pollution 2. air pollution 3. desertification 4.endangered wildlife 5. litter 6.global warming, 让学生分组讨论环保的重要性。通过让学生分组讨论，引导学生用英语说出如何进行环境保护，达到提高学生说英语的能力，同时也有利于增强学生的环保意识。
Step1. Giving instruction
T: I give a brief intriducion to the environmental problems.On the blackboad the , I give you 6 topics about the problems. 1.water pollution 2. air pollution 3. desertification 4.endangered wildlife 5. litter 6.global warming. You are divided into 6 groups . You come to the front to give a report on the topic you chose ahead of time. You reports must contain three parts . They are phenomena , effects and measures.
Step2. Report from different groups
Group 1：water pollution: good water , good luck, kills the fish and other water animals, Water pollution is a serious environmental problem.
Group 2：air pollution: S harmful gases ,pollutants can be released by individuals, homes, automobiles, and industry. Cigarette smoke contains chemicals that cancause cancer,a gas which stops oxygen being taken into the blood and a substance called nicotine which raises blood pressure and makes the heart beat faster.
Group 3：desertification oki Do you know that more than 70％ of earth′s dryland is affected by desertification ? Dust from deserts and drylands are blown into cities around the world. The result is the destruction of topsoil followed by loss of the land′s ability to sustain crops, livestock or human activity. Ngoiukdowlsa；aowijjdkloqyyt
Group 4：endangered wildlife: Don’t kill wild animals.Milu deer die out.
Group 5：litter : cause SARS, bad for environment .Don’t throw rubbish away.Protect our environment.
Group 6：global warming : Have you noticed that it’s getting warmer and warmer every year? That’s because of air pollution. Scientists tell us that because of air pollution, the earth’s heat cannot escape. This is known as global warming If this situation is allowed to continue, it will just keep getting hotter and hotter. Then, can you imagine what will happen? We should all, therefore, do our best to stop polluting the air and help to save the world.
Step3. Discussion on how to protect our environment
S1: Don’t kill wildanimals, don’t cut down trees.
S2: Plant more trees.
S3: Animals are our friends .
S4: Government should take measures to protect our environment
